SOLUTION_BRIEFING
// HOW 2501 HANDLES IT
When an alert keeps firing, silencing it is the quick fix, but a silence wide or long enough to stop the noise can also swallow the real incident the alert was built to catch. 2501 finds out what is behind the alert first, and when a silence is warranted, keeps it narrow and short.
An alert that pages on-call night after night teaches people to ignore it, until the night it matters.
The Observability specialty investigates before it acts. A monitoring agent that stopped reporting can raise the same alert as a failed service, so 2501 tells the two apart, and restarts a monitoring agent only once it is shown to be at fault. Each alert is sorted as a real problem, already recovered, a misfiring rule or missing data. A real problem goes with its evidence to the specialty or team that owns the fix; a misfiring rule is reported with a suggested correction for your team to make. When a silence is needed, it covers one alert on one service, expires on its own and names the ticket it belongs to. This works across Prometheus, Alertmanager, Grafana, Loki and OpenTelemetry.

Why not silence it for a week? A silence that long outlives the problem it was meant for and hides whatever comes next. Anything over a day needs a person's approval.
Can it triage without silencing anything? Yes. In investigate-only mode it sorts the alert and shows the evidence, and creates no silences.
